 Originally licensed at age 14 (1976) as KA5EMU.  First rig was home-built Heathkit HW-16 and HG-10 VFO.  Used ham skills more than I ever thought I would during my career in US Army.

Currently a General Class operator licensed in 2016.  Trustee for Boy Scout Troop 20 Amateur Radio Club (WS5BSA).  Have assisted multiple Scouts and Scouters in earning their Tech and General Class licenses.  Retired from 36 yr career in the US Army (18D, 18C, 74D, 11Z).  Active in Scouting BSA as a Scoutmaster, Venture Crew Advisor, and District Committee Member.
