I live in South Africa, a small town named Stilbaai (grid locator KFO5qo  88TR)

Licenced  since 1991.

• am retired. My wife and I love travelling around the country and often go camping with our motorhome.
• I use http://aprs.fi  when I am travelling and camping.
• am active on echolink.
• I am also a member of The South African Radio League.

My home station consists of a:   

• Yaesu FT 991A with mAT-30 (ATU) and G5RV antenna
• Yaesu FT 891 with Z-11Pro LDG (ATU) with SIGMA SE HF-X80 VERTICAL antenna
• ICOM  IC 706-MK2G with mAT-180H (ATU) with GFX 150SW antenna
• TYT   TH 9800  with Diamond X200 Dual Band  5/8 Colinear Vertical antenna

 Although I don’t actively participate in competitions and I don’t "chat" much, but I do use :        

• JS8Call  
• FT8, FT4, Q65 on WSJTX or JTDX with GridTracker
• VarAC and Winlink
• ROS 
• Fldigi   ( FSQ, Olivia,) or whatever mode where I find some activity.

Alternatively I love to listen all over the bands on the SDR's with the RTL SDR .
