Thank you for for  visiting my HRDLOG.net page.

I have been an Amateur Radio Operator since 1990 (oh how I miss Those sunspots!)

I tested up to Advanced class within a couple of years and was active on 2 meters as well as 10-20 meters.  Then, in early 2001, we experienced a direct lighting strike on our home (shack).  Nearly every piece of electronics in our house was smoked.  I had just come home from the hospital with a brand new neck surgery, and was very much "out of it" at the time. So, I didn't even know that ALL of my radio gear had been fried during the storm.

So, based on the lack of equipment, as well as several other factors, I became Radio-INactive for nearly 10 years.  But, in February 2011, I saw an ad for the Quansheng dual band HT on eBay.  When I saw that the radio, shipped to me from Hong Kong, was less than $100...I had the Ham Fever again.  I scheduled my Extra Class exam and Passed!

Now I am the proud owner of:
Quansheng el cheapo 2 meter - 440 HT w/the Maldol 209 stubby antenna - MFJ-1432B mobile antenna
Yaesu FT-950 HF/6 meter transceiver w/ 10-15 meter Vertical and 75' Longwire/MLWB
Heil Proset Plus Headset

I look forward to many QSOs as I resume the Ham Hobby.
