WK9J Extra 1989 > KE9RD Advanced 1989 > KB9CME Novice 1989. Elected President - York Radio Club, 1990-1991 & again 2001-2002; Vice President - York Radio Club, 1996; Director - York Radio Club, 1992-93-94, & 2003-04-05, VE, Editor of Club News Letter "The Circuit Board", established club's first WEB Page and established club's first repeater station on 440 mhz licensed as W9PCS. Was instrumental in securing one the areas tallest buildings for its installation providing wide area coverage over the greater Chicagoland area and into Wisconsin and Indiana. The repeater call sign was changed in 2010 to W9YRC (York Radio Club), and remains at the original site. Many great memories associated with YRC but now it's 2012 and time to retire. I moved to Florida March 1, 2012, and am challenged with a stealth HF antenna design that's unnoticeable in a deed restricted area! With my working years out of college, I taught basic electronics, industrial electronics, television theory and applied mathematics, at RETS Electronics Institute in Rock Island, Illinois. I later moved on to the manufacturing environment as electronic engineer with Bear Manufacturing, Corporation, followed by technical development, sales, and marketing, with Teleweld, Incorporated. I advanced my career in Sales and Marketing with Vapor, Corporation, Chicago, Illinois, and held my final career position for over 14 years as Senior Account Manager with Robert Bosch LLC in the Chicago Suburb of Broadview, Illinois; followed by retirement. In case you are wondering, after over 2 years of living with antenna restrictions in Florida, I was finally successful in designing a stealth HF antenna (see picture below) and I can now operate 80 through 10 meters. And I also hold a private pilot single-engine-land license, and I purchased my first ever motorcycle in May of 2013, a Yamaha V Star 950 Tourer. There are many country roads to ride on in Florida and you can do it most anytime of the year. 73's
