First licensed in Pennsylvania in 1958 with novice call KN3DHL. In 1978 rejoined amateur radio ranks with technician call N3AAG. Upgraded that call to general in 1982 after completing my Ph.D. studies in geophysics at Penn State U. and moving to Texas. In 2007 I again upgraded to extra class and received my Texas call AD5XU. Finally, in 2017 I ceceived by vanity call WF5J, which I think stands for Wiley Fox 5 Jay but I don't think my wife agrees. I am a retired oil company research scientist and a college physics professor.
