I've been a licensed amateur radio operator since 1968 with the following U.S. call signs: ex-ex-WN2IBW; WN2EKX and WA2CNV. I'm a life long member (since 1967) of the American Red Cross Emergency Communications Service/WB2QBP. I am the trustee of call sign K2ARC. I have a modest home station consisting of a Yeasu FT900AT and a G5RV 80-10m dipole. This hobby has been a major influence in my lifetime and I thank my Dad for his interest in broadcast band DX'ing in the 1920s' that led me to ham radio! I also thank my lifelong friend and mentor, Dr. Robert Hickey/N3HRI/6 for his guidance when I was learning the hobby. Through him, my very first amateur radio HF contact was JY1 in 1969 on 15m CW - King Hussein, who called me! He always looked for new hams to surprise like that!
