Hello and thank you for checking out my call! I am an East Tennessee native and an avid Outer Banks fanatic, hence the OBX in my call. I have been in the hobby since 1996, when I started as a Tech+, and upgrading to General in 2009, there are many reasons why it took me so long, but we will leave that for another day. I enjoy many aspects of the hobby, such as ARES, Sky Warn, Sat Operations, HF, DXing, and of course the art of antenna making.
I am a member of Jefferson County ARES (JCARES), or more specifically an Assistant Emergency Coordinator (AEC) with the group. We have a net every Monday night at 6:00 p.m. EST on 145.410 KI4OTQ repeater, which can be reach via echo link if you’re not in range of the repeater. If you are interested in more information about ARES or the Jefferson County ARES Group please feel free to contact me or the JCARES EC (W4DOD- Dan).
I volunteer a lot of time with Youth Football (Coaching) and with the Coast Guard Auxiliary, which I am a member of the 1205 Flotilla in the Norris Lake area of East Tennessee. I am also a 12 year veteran of the United States Navy, where I served proudly in the special ops and the Navy Sea Bees programs.
Have a blessed day and 73’s……
