I got started in Amateur Radio back in 2015 as KE0EBE. Not liking the call, and remembering them telling me in the Technician Class, that I could apply for a vanity call. Why not take my late grandfathers call, and share at least a part of his passion so his memory can live on. Speaking of my grandfather, I can remember back in my CB days, my grandfather hounding me to get my amateur license. Back then, CW was required, and I just didn't have the drive to learn it. Unfortunately, after my grandfather passed, I thought, why not? It tore me up inside that I didn't take the opportunity to get licensed while he was here where I had someone I could just call or show up begging for advice, tips, tricks, and help with projects I didn't understand. I do kick myself hard in the backside for putting it off. But none the less I am here.
I mainly do voice SSB, FM, work right now because I don't have the equipment for digital, and I can't seem to grasp CW. As for digital, I am hopeful that all will change in the next year or so, where I can start working digital modes. However, I do work 160-70cm. So if you hear me out there, jump in and say hello.
I like chasing DX, use any band, mode, I have available, and even try those rare contacts. I am not so much into contests, but if I hear someone calling CQ no matter where they are from, or for what reason, I try to reach out and say hello.
