Today, the club is situated at Rose Bay, on the shores of beautiful Sydney Harbour, on the site of the historic Rose Bay Flying Boat Base. It is the local amateur radio club for the City of Sydney, the Eastern Suburbs and the Inner West. The Waverley Amateur Radio Society is a very active club catering for many aspects of amateur radio activities for its members, including electronics, shack nights, DX, contests, field days, the International Lighthouse and Lightships Weekend (Macquarie Lighthouse, Sydney Harbour; Hornby Lighthouse, Watsons Bay; Endeavour Lighthouse, Botany Bay), moon bounce and JOTA. The club has had the privilege of contacting both the Mir Space Station (x1 contact) and the International Space Station (x4 contacts).
The club offers the opportunity for members and visitors to meet several times a month. These include regular monthly meetings for presentations, shack nights for radio operating, project days and weekly club working days.
