User info
Hi ! My name is Mariusz. I am a licensed amateur radio operator since 1995. Housing conditions and strong urban QRM prevent the installation of the antenna on short waves on the roof of the building. For this reason, I decided to buy a Yaesu FT818 portable mobile radio. I work under 6W QRP with a shortened home antenna type HF P1 attached to the balcony railing. The antenna is 1 meter long. It can be used on the 10, 15, 17, 20 and 30m band. In addition, on the balcony I have an antenna based on a 7-meter fishing rod retracted for communication. The antenna tuned with a coil enables work in the 40, 60 and 80m band. When working in the field I use a dipole at 80m, EndFed with a length of about 41m, a portable antenna type HF-P1 working in the range of 6 to 40m. On the VHF band I have the LPDA SOTA tourist portable antenna and the Yagi 6 elements. Recently I bought a 45W amplifier for short waves that should significantly improve my performance.
