 My name is Theo Vermeulen. I was born in 1976 in the city of Helmond, in the province of Noord-Brabant, about 10 km south of my current QTH. My current QTH is the village of Deurne (locator grid JO21VL ), between Helmond and Venray.

I've been into radio since I was just a two-year-old toddler. My father was already a radio freak and shortwave listener (SWL). An analogue, with large and shiny futuristic aluminum tuning knobs. I discovered when I turned this dial, something special happened.

Besides my hobby for sending I am active as a volunteer in the fire brigade. Here I have the position of Chief Fire Officer and Functional Fire Master. I am also a heavy driver.

I am allowed to guide new members in the world of the fire service, and as a Workplace Supervisor I personally get a lot of energy from this.

My permanent job is also Fire Service, but then as a Centralist at the LMO location Oost-Brabant. Here I accept the 112 (911) reports and coordinate the vehicles according to the incident location.

You can say, I am a 24/7 professional volunteer.
