Home call: JR2TTS in Japan (PM85jl). I also hold an Extra license in the US, hence the NI3B callsign, used when visiting family in MD (FM19gm) either in August or December.
I have done three trips there since 2015, each time in August, and have operated on HF (40-10m) and VHF (6m-2m) in various modes, experimenting with new ones each time. The antenna is simply a G5RV Jr. strung up in the trees above my mother's house, about 35 feet off the ground in deep deciduous forest cover. The leafy cover attentuates VHF signals somewhat but HF doesn't seem to mind -- I've worked New Zealand from that location with as little as 15W.
In an aggregate operation time of about a month (three trips of 10-11 days each) I'm over halfway to WAS.
