I am a new amateur radio operator, having received my Extra license in January 2014. I am enjoying all aspects of the hobby, especially learning and building pieces that can be used. My current rig is an immaculate Yaesu FT-101EE I purchased from a local ham, and MFJ-941C antenna tuner, and a homebrew 10m-40m Carolina Windom I have hoisted about 25' up in a near flattop configuration. I'm still learning Morse code, so I have not attempted any QSOs with that mode. I've primarily been operating using SSB and PSK31.
