Hello fellow Amateur Radio Operator! I'm an avid DX'er and like to do portable Ops, portable QRP ops, etc and enjoy every mode from working double sideband AM to the Digimodes. If the mode requires a radio the chances are I like it!
I am also a avid collector/restorer/user of vintage Amateur Radio receivers and transmitters and am known by friends as "Vortex Joe". I love the warm glow of vacuum tubes an the whole technology surrounding it.
My favorite band is 160M with 60M and 6M close seconds.
My antenna farm consists of a 260ft. Inverted U, a "Gap" Titan Vertical, Hustler G7, 2M 4 element yagi and a 6M 5 element Yagi (both by Cushcraft). I run 100W on 6M SSB and 100W on 2M SSB.
