I'm what you would call a computer geek. The reason I decided to get into ham radio is because two of my favorite geeks became hams (John C Dvorak, KJ6LNG; Leo Laporte, W6TWT). I received my license in July 2011 and upgraded to General in November, 2011.

I work at home so I am almost always monitoring during the day; mostly on the following repeaters and 10 meters since its the only antenna I have:

Falls Lake ARC (146.94-)

South Wake ARC (145.21- PL82.5)

I also enjoy calling into the "Say Good Morning with Radio" net on the carolina440 link networkwhich links to the IRLP micro-node reflector 9668 at 15:00 UTC (10 am EDT).

Equipment:

ICOM IC-2820H with a Comet GP-9 antenna.

Yeasu FT-450D with a Alpha-Delta DX-CC multi-band fan dipolehung fromtrees.

Dual-band 5 watt Wouxun KG-UV3D with a Comet SBB-7 mobile antenna.

Hope to hear you on the air,

73,

Edwin
