User info
I have been a SWL for over 30 years and after such a long time listening passed the UK Foundation Licence November 2013 at the Southampton Amateur Radio Club. In the new year I will be moving forward to intermediate and hopefully not to far away the full licence. My QTH is located within IARU Locator Square IO90HW and WAB Grid Square SU41 QTH is 182.8ft / 55.7m Above sea level Other hobbies away from the microphone are Horse Riding. I was once an owner of my own horse but now its just the occasional hack across the lovely surroundings here of The New Forest. Maybe in the future if I have more time I may go back to being an owner. I am also a keen Genealogist tracing the family tree researching all my ancestors. You never know we might be related. Its not everyone's cup of tea but I can be found rummaging around grave yards. The day job often you can find my voice on some more powerful transmitters as a Radio Presenter freelancing all over the UK on Commercial & BBC. Equipment The HF set up here is from my Icom 706 in to a G5RV.IT-100 AuotunerK-PO NM-531 Power Microphone. 2m & 70cm in to co-linier I run a Kenwood TM-732E or the Yaesu FT2600M at home or in the car. Portable operation FT60E. For general Short Wave Listening Yaesu FRG-100 I do collect QSL cards and will reply to any received. I QSL direct or via the Bureau and I E-QSL although only just started the design is basic. I will reply but still prefer to get a nice card in the post. Recently started tracking High Altitude Balloons accross UK & hopefully Europe Details here UK-HASView on Map (IO90HW)
