All routes work
Became interested in Ham Radio as a small boy listening to the guys across the pond chatting away on 20mtrs on an old Drake R4C when I was about 10 in my father's shack so a SWL for many many years. The in the early 80's became intersted in CB radio - easy way to tx hi.
Then of course did the wife and kids stuff and finally got interested again on 2000. I owe a debt of gratitude to my Elmer Colin G3VTT who taught me the RAE and then proceeded to bombard my brain with all this dit and dah stuff, the rest they say is history, I have never looked back.
Chris likes to wrag chew as well as work DX and when the two can be combined is when the hobby comes into its own.
He also likes to work QRP CW operation & enjoys the challenge of working DX on 5 watts. He is always good for a rag-chew & enjoys working all over the world. The favourite bands are 40m and 17 meters when open, hopefully, once conditions improve we will be having some fun-come on sun - wake up!
His favourite mode is CW and PSK and he can be found on all bands but mostly 40/20/17 mtrs.
Getting into RTTY and PSK.31 / 63 /125 these days liking the intergration of the radio with the computer and also enjoying the low power possibilities of using these modes. The main station comprises of Elecraft K 3 Line up and a KX3 for /P es mobile use. Also QRV from the family holiday home in Spain as EA5/M5LRO/P. Antennas are a Hexbeam for 20-6mtrs, rotary dipole for 30m nd there is also a big doublet for 80/40/30 meters which works well on all bands.
He has 5 band DXCC, phone on 40 /20 /15/12 &10, CW on 40/30/20/17/15/12/10 as well as WAC, WAZ, WAS and abt 360 IOTA.
Also a member of the EPC psk club Nr 1474 and has aquired lots of certificates that they present for their awards programmes which is a bit of fun. Is also DXCC using psk.31.
Catch you on the air one day perhaps - until then very 73 God Bless
