I live in the northeast of England and i learn more about radio every day, I have been licensed since April 2020
so i am quite new to the hobbie , I passed my Full License on April 1st 2021 .
I like working portable, it gets me away from the QRM .
An EFHW antenna tuned to 80m with a 49:1 imp.transformer makes for easy deployment and works on most
bands for me. This can be seen supported on two fibreglass poles off the back of my camper. If you look careful in
the top picture you can just make out the wire between the two poles.
My Station consists of:-
Yaesu FT-991A , Yaesu FT-818 , Yaesu FTM-7250 , Yaesu FTM-400 XDR , Retevis RT95, Retevis RT3s, and a couple of Baofeng UV5/UV10.
I like working HF but have a small station with a Hustler 5 Band Trapped Vertical in place of the Antron 99 antenna in the picture.
I also have a 2m x 6 Elements / 70cm x 10 Elements 16 elements total Yagi antenna with rotator
and motorised vertical or horizontal polorisation.
Keen to work portable and like nothing better than getting up a hill somewhere and doing a couple of SOTA activations .
I've also been trying some C4FM and wires'x .
My latest ambition is to hold my first qso using morse code by the end of the year 2023.
