Welcome to my page!  I was born and raised in Michigan, and now live in Tennessee with my wife and children.  My father is a Ham and I got interested in talking on radios since I was able to talk.  I got my Technician license in April of 2012, and have plans on upgrading to General in 2013.  I have been around and used radios for years, and really got my hands on while in the US Army.  I was the radio NCO for my first unit, and the go 2 person in the last two units before being wounded in action and eventually being honorably discharged because of my injuries in combat.  When I became a civilian again was when I decided it was time to get into Amateur Radio and get my license after 40 years of listening on the sidelines.  I currently have a Kenwood 520SE I got from my dad at the end of 2012 so I am now able to enjoy DXing.  This radio is hooked up to a DX Engineering ATSA-1 stealth antenna that I put in the yard this summer.  I have plans on expanding on my current DXing with a Icom 7000 in early 2013 to one of my vehicles with a Little Tarheel II.
