Hello and thanks for visiting my page. My interest in radio began in the early 90's when I received a scanner as a gift. Before long I was listening to the conversations on the local VHF/UHF repeaters. Studied for the test but never took it. Some time later I purchased a Grundig Yacht Boy receiver and discovered the world of HF. Finally learned the art of sending in reception reports to the big broadcast stations and started receiving QSL cards. Of course today I am still collecting and trying to add to that collection. And some 21 years later I did manage to study for and pass the Technician test. A month later I went back and passed the General. I am currently studying for the Extra class exam as time allows.
I am a member of ARRL, ARES, and the Bradley County Auxiliary Communications Service which is part of the Emergency Management Agency. We currently have a great group of people who enjoy working public events as well as training for and responding to disasters. I am also a trained weather spotter for the National Weather Service. The April 27th wave of tornados in our area is an excellent example of what we train for
