I am 78 years old, and retired. I was first licensed in 1963 as WN8GMU, at the same time my dad received his license as WN8CXO. I joined the U.S. Navy late that year and let my license expire. While my dad went on to become WA8CXO (SK in 2004). I did get make into amateur radio for a short period while stationed on the USS Ranger, as KN7OOK, so that we could operate a shipboard station and provide phone patch's back to the states for the crew members. I let that lapse as well. I retired from the Navy in 1989.

After military life, I retured to school and completed a BS in Electronics and a BS in Information Technology. I spent my second career after school working in the telecommunications industry in Arizona. I fully retire in 2008 and once again am hamming to fill my days. I got my Tech in Aug 2008 and followed that with my General in Sept of 2008. I am now working towards my Extra Class Ticket.

I recently discovered the digital modes and when not on the air, I spend time experiment with antenna configurations. My current project is small antenna garden (just rebuilt my GAP Titan DX).
