I've been an OTR truck driver since 1994, I enjoy seeing the country and visiting with people I've never met. I also enjoy talking with people on the bands.

I have always been on the 11 meter band since my childhood years when my dad had his vacuum tube 23 channel CB radio along with a moonraker on a 40ft tower, back when you needed a call-sign just to talk on the CB. That was a a lot of fun back then.

After several years of talking on the 11 meters, my Cobra 29 quit working. So while I was in Knoxville, TN, I decided to purchase another radio. I purchased a Stryker SR-955 HPC, 10 meter 70+watts of peak power with USB, LSB, FM, and AM band radio, it's frequency range is from 24.000 MHz to 30.015 MHz. The salesman made it very clear not to talk on the 10 meters without a license and the reasons behind it. So that peaked my attention to learn about the hobby.

I passed the Technician & the General exam on 12/14/2019 and received my license on 12/18/2019. I've been enjoying the new hobby ever since.
