I was licensed as KD5RTL in 2002 because playing radio was something that dad and I could do together. On January 3, 2009 after a long illness my dad who was also a ham, KD5PSX, passed away. I obtained his call on February 28, 2009. Dad also left me his radio equipment so after being out of radio for a period of time I am now back at it. As a friend said, ‘John you now have radios that you won’t sell or trade so you’ll be on the radio from now on.’ He’s right. I enjoy all aspects of radio especially the digital modes, mostly PSK. I am a Master Mason at Rockport #58. I am also a Widow's Son (Retired). Warden's Chapter, Malvern Arkansas. I also enjoy riding my Harley Davidson Tri Glide Ultra.
