User info

I'm a first generation ham as both of my parents were totally deaf.  My dad didn't let his deafness stop him from the pursuit of countless projects that were challenging and rewarding to complete.  A Tektronix oscilloscope, a machinists toolbox, and lots of Mamiya Large Format and Nikon 35MM SLR equipment were part of my childhood.  He allowed me to participate in his projects and I'm grateful for his generosity.

I got introduced to electronics through my dad who was an avid hobbyist. We spent countless hours building heathkit projects together throughout my childhood.

Unfortunately, I haven't handled a soldering iron since then and am looking forward to picking one up again after all these years.

My station:  Icom IC-7200 HF with AKG 240 Monitor Headset.  I use an MFJ Powerlite OCF Dipole for 40/20/10/6m and an LDG IT-100 AutoTuner.
My portable is a Kenwood TH-F6A with a Diamond HF Whip.  Both radios were bought used and work very well.

My mobile rig is a Yaesu FT-2900 inconspicuously mounted.  The antenna used is a Diamond K-400.
