 I've been an amateur operator since Jan 1993 and had an ongoing interest in radio and electronics since I was young. I've recently (late 2013) jumped into the HF side of the HAM hobby after many years, and am having a ball. I've started with HF digital mainly working PSK31 so far. At our current residence, we're antenna restricted and I'm already "pushing my luck" with the HOA with an EagleOne vertical on a tri-pod in the back yard. It's a compromise setup for sure but with that antenna into the FT-897 it's resonant at 40m and my LDG AT-200ProII Autotuner takes care of 15 and 20. At least I'm on the air! I also enjoy working on 2 mtr/70cm (running a Yaesu FTM-350AR, FT-8800) and messing with APRS projects and EmComm related activities (storm spotting). I find enjoyment in donating my time providing community service communications related functions for charity rides, etc. My current list of rigs:Kenwood TS-440 (backup radio), Yaesu FT-897 (main) and FT-857 (in a box at the moment). I'm married to my wonderful wife Jamie, have three grown boys, and have had three careers over my life, the third I'm currently still active in. Computers/IT (Apple Computer for 10 years (yes I knew the Steve's), the Fire Service in Texas, and now a service field technician in commercial radio to round things out. - 73
