Been a Ham since 2006. I always wanted to get my ticket so I bought the ARRL Tech manual and self studied and got it. Then I discovered HamTest Online. I passed the General in 2008 and the Extra not long after that.
Now that I have retired from full time flying I have more time to spend with Ham Radio. I'm working on WAS first.
As far as my modest station is concerned I have a Kenwood TS-590SG which was a birthday present, I also have an MFJ 986 tuner and an Alinco DM330MV power supply. My antenna is a G5RV hung between 2 trees at about 25 feet in the air. It's not the greatest but it works for me now. Maybe when I'm fully retired and where I want to be I'll get a better setup.
So that's about it for now,
Hope to see you on the air.
