      My registered name by the FCC is Leroy, but  I normally go by Linwood (middle name).  You can learn more about other aspects of my life and hear some of my music by visiting my website:

     I got my Technician Class in February of 2014. In September, I received my General Class license and am now studying for my Extra Class.  I had mostly been interested in 2 meter, but several friends persuaded me to start exploring HF.  Many thanks to Geep (WA4RTS) for helping in acquiring a radio and Bruce (W6SFG) for figuring how to create and install a wire antenna farm at my QTH so my beautiful wife would not object!

     I am running an Icom IC-706 Mark II connected to a

Tokyo Hy-Power HL-1.2KFX Linear Amplifier into a

    LDG-1000 Autotuner.   The combination works really well.  

 My primary wire antenna is a 80 Meter Windom that was manufactured by Buxcomm (packetradio.com). There is also a 120' Dipole across the back of the property, hung in the trees only 15' in the air that serves as my listening antenna.   I use QRZ for logging contacts, and just started (2/13/16) uploading to LOTW.
