North Wakefield Radio Club
National Grid Reference: SE305249 - WAB SE32 - Locator IO93FR
We are one of the most active radio clubs in the North of England; we meet every Thursday at the East Ardsley Cricket Club, just off M1 Jn 41,where we have a large well equipped radio shack and a reasonably priced bar. We are a friendly bunch, always willing to help and assist newcomers and more seasoned hams.
We have a great shack equipped with top class radio’s combined with great antennas including a cobwebb on 60ft tower, and a second 60ft tower with VHF / UHF Beams. The shack has 4computers for data modes, logging and internet. We have recently seen the addition of 70Mhz equipment covering FM and SSB through a transverter.
The shack is available for use by our members at any time.
Training and Exams
We currently run training courses and examinations for the Foundation and Intermediate examinations These tend to be at weekends and are generally run in the autumn through to spring. Many of our members are approved RSGB instructors.
Events and Activities
We have an active committee and we maintain an interesting and informative calendar of events and presentations throughout the year on club nights. These range from social events such as BBQ’s held during the summer months, technical topics and workshops, as well as a mixture of non radio related subjects thrown in for good measure.
We also visit events such as this one to promote the event, and to promote amateur radio to people like you. .
As we radio amateurs say 73 (Best wishes)
