I passed the Tech test on 10/2/2010 in Las Vegas, NV, while there for a hockey game, and got the call sign the following Thursday.  Man, what a ride.  Being an old CBer, from the early 70s I am glad I did.  In just a few short weeks, I have met dozens of "normal" folks and met some DX friends as well.

In years past, I have used a Johnson Whiteface, Johnson 223 (which was basically a 23 channel version of the whiteface), Cobra 132, an old Teaberry SSB Mobile, and then finally my Galaxy DX99V.

To celebrate my new Ham License, I bought a Yaesu FT-60R.

Today I run a Yaesu FTDX5000 or FT-847 depending on band or Sat. In the truck I run an FT-857D & FTM-400.  Boy, do I like this Yaesu gear!  I run it all from an Astron 35 amp regulated supply, and a YA-30 folded dipole.

73s and hope to QSO with you soon!
