User info
I was raised in Alliance Ohio . After finishing high school, I joined the US Navy in 1990 and retired after 20 yrs as an E-8. Lived in NYC, Chicago (3 times), Honolulu HI,Woodbine,GA and now SW Virginia.
I use a ICOM 7300 and IC-9700 as primary radios in the shack, 706MKIIG (Field work/POTA) ICOM ID-5100 and a TYT TH-9000 for 220MHZ. And if needing a little boost, a Drake L7 amp.
For HF and D-Star Mobile I use a Icom IC-7100 with a screwdriver antenna and Zumspot.
For Home station antennas, I have a 6 meter yagi (50 ft) , Mosley MP-33-N-WARC w/ TA-40-K (45ft) and an 80 meter inverted V di-pole.
I also made a 160 meter & 80/10 End Feed Half Wave 49:1 long wire antennas.
I hang around 17 meters (18.117) or 7.185, 14.200 and normally 7.150 in the early morning
I have found a liking to FT-8 / FT-4 and just got into D-Star and DMR.
