Just a few notes on my call, as I do cause some confusion at times!

2E1FVS HOLDS THE UK's INTERMEDIATE LICENCE

I have held this call from the age of 13.

The “2E1” prefix isn’t heard very often anymore, I think this is due to the majority of original 2E1’s upgrading. Since been back QRV from Sept 2007, I have worked a total of , 2 other 2E1 stations.

Back in 1997 when I took the exam it was for the Novice Class B license. 50MHz and up.If I wanted access to HF back then, I would have had to do the 5wpm Morse test and change to a Novice Class A – “2E0”

I spent a few years QRT, and during this time the UK did away with the Morse requirement, as did a lot of country’s. This automatically upgraded me to an Intermediate Licence.

So today, I can enjoy HF and continue causing confusion with my unique call!

I run a no frills station, the small 90's Yaesu FT-840 with antennas which have been mainly verticals of some sort.

Current and past antennas used here, 80m - Inverted L, 40m - 2 Phased Verticals / Single Vertical / Dipole, 20m - Vertical Dipole

Other interests include, the classic Mini, music, beer, women, to list a few.
